About Me

My
Background
I’m Georgie Wood, an IRVAP registered Veterinary Physiotherapist, coach and rider. I work with leisure and competition horses across Surrey, Sussex and Kent, supporting horse and rider partnerships at every stage - from rehabilitation and confidence-building through to competition performance.
My love for horses began at a very young age, clearly inspired by my mum’s passion for them, which I have certainly inherited. I grew up as an active member of the Pony Club, gaining a broad and well-rounded education across a variety of disciplines from Mounted Games & Tetrathlon to Eventing. This foundation led to me passing my Pony Club A Test at my first attempt in 2012 which remains one of my proudest achievements.
As a rider, I have competed successfully at Advanced level Eventing and Showjumping up to 1.40m. My two current show-jumpers I have produced myself from just backed youngsters the whole way through to 1.40m level. While I continue to enjoy competing, my real passion lies in the day-to-day training, care and development of horses - a key reason I chose to train as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. I completed my Masters at the University of Nottingham part-time alongside riding and coaching, a decision that has shaped the practical, informed approach I take today.
As is often the case, physical and training challenges are rarely isolated to one specific area. My approach combines evidence-based physiotherapy with practical coaching and first-hand riding experience, ensuring each horse and rider receives tailored, well-rounded support. Throughout all aspects of my work, I prioritise the horse’s comfort, understanding and long-term mental and physical wellbeing.
Ultimately, my goal is to help horses feel comfortable in their work and riders feel confident in their partnership, whatever their level or discipline.
